2008 Wisconsin Gun Season Wrap-up

Posted by Chrud , 30 November 2008 · 166 views

The 2008 Wisconsin gun deer season came to a close today.  Once again, I did not fill any of my tags, but I'm fine with that.  I had my opportunities and couldn't close the deal.  Not much activity for me the last could days.  We made a couple drives on our land today and saw a big doe, but couldn't get any shots.

The rest of the guys had some luck.  Here are some pictures from this season.

My "neighbor" Steve killed this nice buck on November 23.  The buck scored around 100" B&C.  His land is about a mile north of our house.

We also started a new tradition of group photos.  In this picture, it is my brother Steve, cousin Cory, neighbor Steve and myself (left to right).

My cousin Cory shot this spike buck and doe fawn on November 28.  With the new tubing for maple syrup in his woods, the deer activity has really dropped off.

Finally, my brother Steve shot this spike buck on November 28.

Late bow season and muzzleloader season begin Monday, December 1.  Muzzleloader season goes until December 10 and then there is a 4-day statewide antlerless deer hunt from December 11 to December 14.  Any deer hunting I do from now until December 14 will be with a muzzleloader.  I haven't had the chance to muzzleloader hunt yet, so I'm looking forward to it.  I'm hoping to get in a couple late season bowhunts also.
