Wisconsin Bow Hunting Update - October 24, 2009

Posted by Chrud , 25 October 2009 · 167 views

Temperatures were in the middle 40's with winds out of the west. I wanted to give my food plot some more time off before hunting it hard next weekend, so that narrowed my stand choices to either my waterhole stand or my blind between some clover and a winter wheat field. Because of all the rain this week, I figured the waterhole wouldn't be very productive, so I sat in my blind.

It was another slow evening. I was entertained by a dozen hen turkeys around 5:00 PM. There is a ton of deer sign in the winter wheat field south of my blind, but nothing show up.

Later this week should be the peak of pre-rut activity and the rut will be here shortly. I have some time off the first week of November, so hopefully I'll be able to show you one of the shooter bucks we have on camera.
