Wisconsin Bow Hunting Update - November 1, 2009

Posted by Chrud , 01 November 2009 · 343 views

This morning was a pretty quick hunt.  It was a beautiful morning to be on stand.  Temperatures were in the high 20's with no wind and mostly clear skies.

I sat by my food plot again.  About 6:30 I heard some movement to my northwest and knew it was a deer.  Moments later a nice doe appeared moving towards the east.  She was eating a few fallen leaves on a logging road on the north end of my food plot.  She was never in range, but it was fun to watch her for a few minutes.  She then disappeared over a ridge heading towards the northeast.

The weather is perfect for sighting in guns today, so I plan on taking a few shots with my muzzleloader and centerfire rifle to make sure they are ready to go.  I might take a drive back over to the woods in an hour or so and get the card out of my Cuddeback and reset the time.  That is one thing I forgot to do this morning.
