Another name for a sanity check is called ice fishing. The thermometer in the truck said three below zero when we pulled up to the shore. With the power augers only running at half choke we found 6+ inches of solid ice.
Our quarry were trout. But somebody invited the yellow perch.
The first two hours of the morning accounted for the most trout. Courtney with a couple nice browns.
As the sun started to warm our world we converged at the pop up for onion and pepper marinated venison subs.
We caught fish until noon. It was a good day to be on the ice.
