Message Forums

I. General Use
  1. Create messages in the most appropriate category for the subject. (ex: Technical questions about scopes or binoculars would go in the "Optics" forum while posts about turkey calling techniques would go in the "Wild Turkey" forum etc.) Moderators may move topics found to be in inappropriate categories. This will insure a quicker response time and help keep the forums uncluttered. Open discussion of topics that seemingly do not have an appropriate category is allowed in the General Discussion forum.
II. Message Content and Respect to the Membership
  1. You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use these message forums to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law. You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you, HuntingResource.com or you have the consent of the copyright holder. HuntingResource.com reserves the right to remove, or not remove, content for any reason or with no reason given at all.
  2. We ask that members follow proper "netiquette" when posting. Purposeful typing in all capital letters, using larger than default text, or highlighted text for the entire body of a post will be edited.
  3. Every member deserves respect, even when opinions differ. Posts intended to disrespect other members or infuriate the message board will be locked or removed. (Reminder: "Freedom of Speech" does not apply to a privately owned and operated entity.) If a member simply must say more than our code of conduct allows, please take the discussion to e-mail and keep personal addresses to members out of the forums.
  4. Advertisements, commercial logos, chain letters, pyramid schemes, solicitations, unapproved contests, and spamming are inappropriate for this set of message forums and will be removed as seen by staff members. Furthermore, any sale, auction, or trade of any item(s) in our "Classified Ads" section is done at the user's own risk. The HuntingResource.com Forum will not be held liable for any damages or loss that may occur as a result of any such dealings.
  5. You are responsible for what occurs on your computer and on your IP address. If other people have access to your computer, we strongly recommend that you "log off" of your forum identity when leaving and keep your password to yourself. Any objectionable posts made under your identity or IP address (at any time determined your computer was using the IP address in question) will be assumed as posts made by you, and can result in a permanent ban if the offense is serious.
  6. Each member will possess only one (1) identity for the HuntingResource.com Forum. Occasional changes to your identity are fine, but posting messages using several separate identities is not acceptable. (You should contact a moderator before changing an identity)
III. Avatar Policy
  1. Member avatars should be tasteful in nature. All avatars loading from a remote location should be within the range of appropriate physical and file size. The default avatar size on the forums is set to 100 x 100 pixels square. Any remote avatars larger than this will be automatically physically resized. However, the file size will remain the same. As a result, we request that remote avatars have a file size of no larger than 100 kilobytes. We will monitor this and if any avatar is found to be outside of the limits it will be removed and a warning will be sent. Repeat problems may result in loss of avatar use privileges and/or banning.
  2. Any avatar that appears to misrepresent a regular member as a Staff member of HuntingResource.com may result in the user being banned from this forum.
IV. Signature Policy
  1. Tasteful graphics are allowed for personal signatures, but they must meet the following requirements: The file size of your signature may not be larger than 200 kilobytes. The physical size may not exceed 400 pixels wide by 150 pixels high. Each member is allowed one (1) image in their signature unless the total file size of multiple images is at or below the file size and general physical size limits mentioned above. We will monitor this and if any signature graphics/images are found to be outside the limits it will be removed and a warning will be sent. Repeat problems may result in loss of signature privilege and/or banning. HuntingResource.com may change these guidelines as we see fit if necessary for board performance in the future.
  2. Placement of active advertising links and/or links to other forums in signatures is reserved for HuntingResource.com Advertisers/Sponsors and will be removed at Staff discretion.
  3. Any signature line, graphic, personal title, or post that appears to misrepresent a regular member as a Staff member of HuntingResource.com may result in the user being banned from this forum.
Chat Room

I. General Use
  1. The chat room provided within the HuntingResource.com Forum is generally for the purpose of discussion pertaining to hunting, fishing and the outdoors. Because content is a live feed and staff members are not always present, conversation can become more "ad-lib" in a chat room environment. This is generally not discouraged by the staff provided discussion remains tasteful and inline with the same general code of conduct for the message forums as well as what is listed below. When staff members are present, they will enforce the code of conduct as stated here. As such, it is suggested that members adhere to the code of conduct at all times in the chat room whether staff members are present or not to avoid possible issues.
II. Chat Content and Respect to Members
  1. You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use the chat room to discuss any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law. Members who engage in such activities will be removed from the chat room if a staff member is present.
  2. We ask that members follow proper "netiquette" when chatting. Purposeful typing in all capital letters, using larger than default text, or highlighted text for all chat input is inappropriate.
  3. Any sale, auction, or trade of any item(s) in the chat room is done at the user's own risk. HuntingResource.com will not be held liable for any damages or loss that may occur as a result of any such dealings.
  4. Any attempt to log in as or misrepresent a regular member as a Staff member of HuntingResource.com may result in the user being removed from the chat room and/or banned from the online community.
NOTE: Any attempts to "break", "crack", or otherwise gain unauthorized access to HuntingResource.com, the HuntingResource.com Forum, or the HuntingResource.com servers will result in criminal prosecution.

HuntingResource.com reserves the right to revise these rules at any time as we see fit. 2010
