I had talked to the guide that had that cliant a few weeks ago he had showed me a pic of that buck, and that pic does it no justice whats so ever. that thing is just a freak,
the hunter that killed it had the gov mule deer auction tag, which I belive went for 190K this year. those big bucks up on the strip and Kaibab will usally head to the grand canyon park when season starts, altough, they do kill some toads up there, but when you only have 200 tags and 12,000 hunters applying for it well you do the math,
I have been applying first choice since I was 16 and have never been drawn, you can go archery but I just dont like rubbing elbows whith everyone and there brother, aunt, uncle, niece nephew and there friends

If he went in as a Rocky Mnt Mule Deer and not a desert Muley he would end up about #6 according to the book. SCI's trophy records site is down right now so he could be a notch or 2 lower as of right now.
A very nice buck.
Nontypical RM Mule Deer SCI book(rifle)
1. Utah Steven P. Smith 09/2001 317-4/8 SCI
2. Arizona Sam Jaksick 08/2002 281-1/8 SCI
3. Utah Jim Tonkin 09/1994 273-2/8 SCI
4. N. Mexico C. Campbell 11/1970 269-4/8 SCI
5. Arizona Brad Johnson 11/1986 263-3/8 SCI
6. Wyoming Will Goswick 10/1968 255-0/8 SCI
So if he was 265+ and you would have to take a 2% deduction due to still in velvet he would be roughly 260. Awesome...
P.S. yes I am bored and a book worm :(
