what kind of range could one cleanly kill a deer with a 20 gauge sabot out of a fully rifled bore say 24 inch or so?

Out to 100yds should be no problem for a 20ga slug gun sighted in at 2in high at 50yds.

You got enough energy at 125yds but that slug will drop almost 4" between 100 and 125yds. And that's with Saboted ammo.

The New Hornady SST shows that if you sight 2.5 inches high at 50 yards then

100yds= 3 inches high
150yds= dead on
200yds= 8 inches low......
