I'm on a floating rig in the Gulf of Mexico standing by in case the rig has any trouble drilling and we are catching Yellow Fin Tuna. Last night we brought up a 40 lber. Have to fight them until they are worn down and then drop a rope that has a huge homemade treble hook on it to gaff the fish and pull it to the rig deck we are fishing from. The rig deck is about 75' from the water line and the rig is sitting in 5700' of water. Sorry, unable to put up any pics. Taking some with Cell Phones but unable to upload them. Gonna be some good eating when we get home.

Wayne what a great way to pass the time. I got to hand it to you, that's the way to improvise. You're right the eating is hard to beat. Thanks for sharing that fishin story - not your normal reeling them tuna fight like your hooked up to sports car anyway and then lift them that far up, that adds a whole nother dimension to it.

Hope you can upload a picture when you get back on dry land.

Bringing in a 40# tuna on a rig is no small feat. It's hard enough from a boat. You did REAL good not to get cut off!!!
