Viper's wife - no high fence, they lease large ranches in the area. The elk are plentiful in S.E. Colorado too from the stories and pictures I have seen from there. When I was out there bow hunting season for elk had come in the week before and they had three different bowhunters take an elk and they were on three different ranches. There are some very expensive hunting ranches in the area with some very expensive huge trophy bull elk on them but no high fences. So if the herds move off the other ranches they some times move to Full Draws leases and the big bulls are theirs for the hunt.
