Sadly I seem to be alone on this topic. I guess its the price to be paid for asking for an Elkaforum...

You are not alone, I am still tring to figure out how Todd and I can go! We have a lot going on in Sept and now a family event in Oct. Time off from work is slowly disappering and money of course is always tight! But if we can figure it all out, we will be there!
I would rather be on a lake thinking about God,
then sitting in a church thinking about fishing.

Charlie,

I'm there as a weekend warrior. I'm buying a second tag for elk and definitely a bear tag! That area has too many bear to overlook! Same spot, different year- right? ;)

Thats just fine with me. We should survey others who might come though too. I'm not averse to 371 where they went in 05 too. I'll stay as long as I can but with no camper yet we'll unfortunately be hotelling it somewhere. Ill be glad when the DOW puts the OTC tags out so I can actually GET some so I know what I am doing. I'd like to get a bear tag too. I havent bear hunted in ages, since leaving PA.

I may stop in for a visit if Elkatraz is in 45 this year. I'll be hunting elsewhere but might be within visiting distance. I'm just hoping to get myself in shape and my shooting ready which is slowly coming along. Feel like I need binoculars to see those targets at 50+ yards!! Is it September yet?? Chomping at the bit in Minnesota...

Iron: where are you going to hunt?

I have no clue what Sept will hold this year. I'm lucky if I know whats going to happen by the end of the day right now. I didnt draw for 49 ( on elk ) but I did pull mule deer tag....gonna be interesting hunting 2 diffrent units for diffrent animals, in the same time frame .

I have done that a few yrs Bruce, and it wasnt fun as I lost a lot of time travelling between units. But I have no success ratio anyway so I guess it was just all good fun. I drew mulie doe in 55, and wife put in for leftover mulie doe in 44 or 45 for same weeks. So I am in same shape you are.

Maybe this is our yr to all get lucky hunting. The more the struggle the better the journey.
