I took my nephew Paul out on a public lake in central Texas this past weekend. It was his first time duckhunting. Only the kids were allowed to shoot(our season doesn't start till Nov.4). After 1 1/2 boxes of 12 ga. shells and having the dekes "buzzed" by 200+ ducks , he got his limit! We were in the boat heading for the ramp by 9:00 am. I gotta hand it to him-at 10 yrs old, shooting 1 1/2 boxes of 12 ga 3" shells is no small feat!... I think he's hooked!
He limited out on mallard, teal, widgeon.

Congrats to your nephew on his first duck hunt. I hope you have a life time duck hunter now as we need more from the new generation. I know what you mean about shooting those big loads...first few times out for geese, my youngest insisted on using my 10ga! Once again, congrats to Paul and wish him good luck on his hunting career for me.

Yep a happy youngin with an obviously sore shoulder but I'll bet his grin said it all.
