You never forget your first deer. Hard to believe you'll forget any of them, right now I know. But trust me, you will always remember the first MOST CLEARLY.

Print out your story and keep it someplace safe ;)

BTW, knew you could do it :)

I don't have many head mounts but the one I do have has the story encased in plastic and taped to the back of it. Rereading it takes me right back to the spot with crystal clear mental pics of the hunt.

Good job Eric on your first deer. Can't help on the food bill and gas bill though. Hey at least they didn't make you grab the liver and take a bite of it. Yep thats what they did to me on my first deer.

Run!! you finally entered the ranks of the deer slayers!! :D congrats bud :D like you've been told the first one is the one you remember forever. Don't sweat the bad first shot, as much adrenaline as you had pumping i'm suprised you hit it on the run LOL i'll tell ya i'm more than twice your age, and i've only taken 2.. LOL hoping to change that this year but you never know LOL.... but anyways.. the adrenaline never stops pumping when you see one... i wish you many more successes in the field, and hope your next deer looks like it's got a tree growing out of it's head ;)

Hey Eric, If you have a way to come up here you could cut my grass for the summer, paint the house, garden shed and barn eh! With pay of course. I will even supply accomodation and feed ya. So it's all cash money, better have a chat with your parents eh see if they can get ya a plane ticket out here! :) We could even do some fishing.
Congrats again on your first deer!

Thanks for the offer!

Eric; Congratulations on getting your doe, and a great well written story about your hunt. As said by many others, shooting at running game is a learning experience, best to wait, as you admitted too. Glad you and your dad had a great hunt. Hungry Horse in Pa :D
