Jer,
It seems every time I visit HR I am required to Log in. Are we logged off automatically when we leave.
When I log in I put in my username and password and check the box so it will remember me.

thanks
Ricf

Log in is set to automatically expire after so many hours regardless of cookie settings. It is a security feature for members and their accounts, not the forum. (Protects from unauthorized users of your account on shared computers.)

Personally, I am not on a shared computer and I still don't mind the feature. If, however, a large enough member percentage would like to see this feature disabled I would consider it.

I reworked some things...

- Changed expiration to every 7 days
- Defined the cookie path more specifically

Let me know if this helps those who were having issues staying logged in.

We ALL had to re-login this morning as a new cookie was defined. There should hopefully be no more issues. But, let me know how it works from here out.

I really don't like this logging in all the time. I forgot my password, tried to e-mail for a new one from the log in place. No new e-mail containing a pass word was sent to me, maybe that feature don't work? I notice a large number of "Guests this morning,, maybe others are having trouble signing in? Anything that can be done about that? I want to stay logged in all the time. Thank you

Well, you can't log in if you don't remember your pass word, and the system won't send you a new one, so then what? your last 2 replys in this thread don't seem to address this subject at all? I ended up having to e-mail hunting resource and got it from you, but i'm sure there are others out there that can't log in either because of forgotten pass words and the inability to get new ones from the system

The "forgot password" feature works just fine. (I have used it myself.) Most likely your spam filter blocked the re-validation e-mail. (I know mine did and I had to "allow" the sender to prevent this.) There is really not much I can do about a spam filter. When that happens, however, people simply e-mail the administrator. This is why I even have my e-mail address in my signature and signatures are viewable by "guests" if all else fails. It worked for you and all should be well with the world.
