In Wyoming, most seasons start September 25. They will be rutting by then.

Also, just so ya know 223 is not permitted for big game here, not that you were gonna use one.

Thanks for the info. Marty,
I'll probably stick with the 06 since elk may be on the venue. I have a set of Harris swivel bi-pods that I can mount on the rifle if you'd recommend using them.

The bipod is definately a good idea. I'll never leave home without it. Antelope are very frail, kinda like Huck! They drop real easy. The 243 will flatten one quick and with authority. So will the 06. Take whichever one that you are most comfortable with and have a blast. If you get skunked, c'mon up here, and I'll show you thousands of em. Good luck !

Yes, I would recommend a bipod and I also use Harris. They are quality equipment and a usefull tool out in the field while chasing goats.

I am not sure of what area Huck was planning to take you into but those bipods work about anywhere.

I drew my rifle antelope tag in NE for this fall! It is strange that NE does not give out at least a few nonresident lope tags (rifle tags) in my opinion. We have a healthy population and quite a few record book animals. You watch Marty.....I am gonna go two for two on booner speed goats to make up for my poor luck with deer. lol fingers crossed.
