I'm just running a bit of a survey here...

Does your flintlock spark best with the flint placed in the jaws bevel up or bevel down? I know what works best for me. But, what say you?

Down. Seems to send the sparks more towards the pan.

It depends on what rifle I am shooting. Also if you turn the flint over ever ten shots, it will re-knapp itself a little. I got well over 40+ shots off the last flint. I then changed to a new one, and the first strike split that one almost in half.

Like Cayugad says "It all depends" I can shoot either way on my investarms but on My RMC Accusporter the angle of the strike forces me to put the angle down. On my other rifles it doesn't seem to make much difference in sparkability.
