I'm going to buy a 308 for my 16 year old son, never have shot one and it seem's the Remington has the best model so far-any idea's out there would be great-if thrown my way.............
We have over a 1000 rounds of ammo, giving to use from his Grandma.........So might as well get a 308,sounds logical to me ;)
It will be a bolt action..(The best way to go).........

Check out the local shops, Foss and see if you can find a 700 remington heavy barrel. They are a dime a dozen around my neck of the woods and are extremely accurate. They weigh about 9 pounds. A used one should be able to be had for under $500.

If you know any FFL's in your area, ask them to get it for you. They get em much cheaper then you can..

Sorry I can't help you here. The only .308 that I ever shot weighed 23 lbs and went full automatic. Yep an m60 machine gun.
If God had a refrigerator would your picture be on it.
