With the price of a 25 pound bag of lead shot going from 19.00 a bag this time last year to over 36.00 a bag this year does anyone out there make or know how to make lead shot.
Thanks

I would say that it is possible but would take some specialized equipment. The biggest challange is to make it round. I have read about how it is done commercially from a tower. Molten lead is poured through a screen and allowed to fall through the air long enough to harden before falling into a vat of water. The other challange would be to get the right hardness of the lead.

Paul is right in how it's done. It's not something the average Joe really wants to mess with. It can be done but getting it right is tricky.

I think you'll have better luck finding someplace having a "clearance" sale than coming up with a way to make the shot that will save you money.

If you do find a way. I'd certainly be interested.
