Just bought a used Leupold Gilmore red dot with the intentions of mounting it on my Super Blackhawk .44 Hunter. Anybody ever mess with one of these? The price was right though I found out later that I have to use 4 of the octagonal Gilmore rings to mount it due to recoil issues. I am LOVING this pistol but would like to get tighter groups out around 100 yards than what I can with my poor old tired eyes and open iron sights. Worse comes to worse I guess I can put my neglected HOLOsight on it too. Ever since I sold my shotgun the HOLO has been hibernating in a drawer.
Elk: it's what's for dinner!

I had a Ruger Redhawk 44 mag that I mounted a Red Dot scope on(wasn't a Leupold) and used for deer hunting. I went with zero magnification for faster target alignment and loved the set-up. Kicked this little Flatlander all over :help: so after I harvested a doe with it I traded it even up for 2 rifles.
