no i did not catch them as i don't think we have them in our sothern waters....but my grandson went to michigan last week and he caught 2 king salmon and brought the meat home to me ...one weighed around 12 lbs and the other about 20....he took some pictures of them and when he gets them devoloped i'll post the pic's....but now i need to know the best way to cook them up...i know a person does not fry them cause i tried that once...i can bake, grill or smoke them if any one knows how to do it...thanks ...

there is 3 ways that I like to make salmon the 1st way is baked with lemon butter and taters in a tin foil pack the 2nd is a little salt,pepper, and a touch of salsa wrapped in foil and put n the grill, the 3rd is baked with a touch of water (to poach it) in an open pie tin a little onion and seasoning
I believe in fillet and release!

My wifes Favorite!
  • Put 1/4" olive oil in a large cast iron skillet or dutch oven
  • Lay fillets in skin side down
  • Sprinkle fillets with Balsamic Vinegar
  • Sprinkle fillets with Garlic Salt
  • Put a couple 1/4" thick squares of butter on each fillet
  • Cover each fillet with a couple of slices of a well ripened tomato
  • Sprinkle with balsamic vinegar and garlic salt again
  • Fill the pan with sliced pieces of vidalia onion, red and yellow bell peppers
  • Bake in cast iron pan covered tightly with foil at 325F for 25minutes
Fresh steamed rice with some dill and butter in it goes well with this.
