The state of North Dakota has a hunting season for resident people now(Cougars). The season starts in Sept. and finishes when five cougars are killed.
The Game and Fish take the cougar, examine it than give it back to the hunter,to do as they please with it.....

I honestly think we are going to see more and more of this! A friend of mine, from Louisiana, called and asked if I knew what could have killed two of his dogs and left claw marks on the rump of his horse. It was a no brainer! I told him to stake out two goats and have the rifle ready by the door.

Darn nice cat and beautiful mount. I have yet to see one here in CO tho I did witness the "officially non-existent" PA cougar on 4-4-96 along the Sinnemahoning. Lucky farmer for sure.

There are more of them here in Missouri than the Conservation Dept. wants to admit. I had a friend who started having calves being killed. Was obvious work of a cat but the Conservation Agents would hear nothing of it. That is untill my friend found it's tracks and they no longer could deny it. Also had a pair just a mile from my house. Again, they didn't want to admit it was even possible. Then a woman caught them on film with her video recorder and it became reality. Jason has seen two right on the edge of town next to a large amusement park. Sooner or later you can bet a bad situation will develope.

I remember many years ago while deer hunting in Middle Tennessee hearing the distinct sound of very large cat in the woods and seeing the tracks ofa very large cat along the creek bank. We called the DNR guys they laughed and said no big cats live in Middle Tennessee.

I've heard the screams, seen one, and been told of atleast 2-3 more within a 3 mile area around my grandmother's farm in central Texas. The one I saw crossed the road right in front of the truck while I was driving up the lane to her house, stretched all the way across the road from its head to its rump (note: rump, not tip of tail!). From then on, I ALWAYS carry atleast one firearm with me at all times out there! Very good looking mount by the way. :)
