Whistle & I headed back up to venture out in 14" of new snow at the farm for the last day of rifle season....it was a good one !
I was still hunting and spotted a big doe bedded down 40 yards across a ravine filled with thornapples. She never woke up
After a big breakfast I put the rifle away to play "dog" and we were joined by Cuz Lee. I kicked 4 out on the 1st drive....another brown toad down. No racks spotted but a great season this year !
I had fun driving the John Deere through waist high drifts to retrieve deer and Aunt Chubby fed us a huge Prime Rib dinner for the drive home
We gave one of the deer to one of the farm's hired men who's having some struggles this year...his heartfelt thank-you and show of appreciation sure brought a lump to this creaky ol' man's throat.
