I may call that group a good one at 100 yds for me but it was shot ten times as far away. That is one fantastic group. Our 1000 yd competitors here in PA most likely will not reach that tight of a group. The range I went to was carved out on a mountain top. This presents a rather unique challange for doping winds. I recall once while there the wind was blowing one way at 100 yds and the reverse at 300 yds and the same at one of the further distances. When folks come to that range from the west and midwest they never shoot to their home range potential. Many walk away just shaking their heads at what the PA boys and girls can do under such unique conditions. They also said they are thankful that those PA folks don't come to their ranges very often as they would put their local crowd to shame. The competition I saw was a ten shot group in a time limit of 3 minutes.

Yea, yea. It's PRETTY good. A little left and low.

And they say you can't express sarcasm without the little yellow face. Ha.
Does anyone know if this was a air trigger bench set up? Was the gun mounted to the bench?
I see it this way... at 1000 yards a minute is at 10 inches. Assuming that the average hunting rifle is around 1 moa. He is around 1.5 inches.
Thats 8.5 inches for the additional $12,000 or so that is gun cost more than my most expensive gun. Thats around $1700 per inch. Hmmmm. Money well spent!

I just emailed a 1000 yd competiter that I know to see if he knows anything about that target and the equipment used.
