Sorry Charlie,

What I meant to say is that rifle hunters, as a whole, get well over 13 weeks to hunt elk in Colorado. The rifle seasons starts as early as September 15th and ends as late as December 31st. That's two weeks in September, three weeks in October, and pretty near the whole month of November and December. As a rifleman, you must select a particular time slot. They do this to keep the Bizillion or so hunters from shooting each other.

Now of course the beauty of Colorado is that you can hunt both during the rifle season AND during the archery season if you desire. I think that's pretty cool!

Sorry for hijacking your thread Norm.

No problem Huck. Actually, in my opinion, archery season is so much longer because it's a lot more dificult to get a deer with a bow than with a rifle. I do wish rifle season was longer at times though because the weather can sure affect deer movement. I've seen seasons that you were lucky to see a deer during the day due to unseasonable heat or heavy rain and the deer start moving just about the time the season is over. That can sure ruin a season, especially for those who don't have much time to hunt due to work. I just hunt every oportunity that I can and and am grateful for it. :D

Very nice deer Norm. How long is the Ark season anyway? Ours here ends Dec. 31st with a doe only season until the 15th of Jan.

Hey Steve that is a doe. You ought to see the size of their bucks.
If God had a refrigerator would your picture be on it.
Remember the Ark was built by amateurs, the titanic by professionals.
