What I meant to say is that rifle hunters, as a whole, get well over 13 weeks to hunt elk in Colorado. The rifle seasons starts as early as September 15th and ends as late as December 31st. That's two weeks in September, three weeks in October, and pretty near the whole month of November and December. As a rifleman, you must select a particular time slot. They do this to keep the Bizillion or so hunters from shooting each other.
Now of course the beauty of Colorado is that you can hunt both during the rifle season AND during the archery season if you desire. I think that's pretty cool!
