I am considering a new buttstock for my Win 1300 black shadow. What I am looking for is a pistol grip stock. I did find one at Centerfire Systems Inc for only 40.00. The main reason I am looking for one is when I have had to hold for a long time in shooting position my wrist begins to hurt. I figured that this would allow me more control also.

Personally if the only hunting I did with my shotgun was turkey I might consider it. But since I use the same gun for other birds and occasionally deer... NO WAY.

That's a usage thing for me. Maybe you don't have that issue.

I believe the pistol grips kick harder, I honestly don't know for sure but I don't really see how they couldn't.

Me I'd rather invest in a pop-up blind and raise the gun when I feel like it ;)

Just some things to think about.

Leo my turkey shotgun is just that my turkey gun. If I want a shotgun for something else I have that too. Infact a shotgun is what I shoot the least and have the most of. Most of those that I have are from my father-in-law or were my dad's plus a couple of my own.

Thanks for the info.

They claim thumbhole stocks reduce recoil. I'd think if that were true that a pistol grip might help too. I see your point Paul. It should be easier to hold on to. Wouldn't hurt to check out Ebay.
