went in to see what the reports said and talked to the Dr. after the 2 surgeries on the back already he is talking about another one. He wants to wait 2-3 weeks to see what it does if it gets any better or not then another MRI and go from there turns out the reason Ive had such bad pain is there is another ruptured disc in my neck at levels C3-C4 this is whats causing the pains in my arm and it tingling and the HOT/COLD/numb feeling down my arm. he made it a point to mention that dreadfull S word if it dont get any better. so on Weds morning I go in for a series of injections to help with the pain untill we decide what to do.

well so far they havent given me anything for the C3-C4 area the injections that they are doing is at the T6-T7 area where I had the surgeries in 2003-2004 and that is mainly for the pain of the muscles tightening up and causing pressure on the inplants there is nothing that he will do for the C3-C4 area because he wants to see how it does and not give a false sense that its getting better

Thank you all

Todd sorry to hear that. One good thing is you know what is causing the pain. I know that does not fix it but knowing the problem has to be relieving. Praying for you.

I had a similiar issue I lost c4-c5 & c-5-c6. After the bone grafts it caused alot of issues, including outrageous headaches. My muscles were overstrained against the fusions. they injected me about 15 different times with botox to parilize the effected areas and PT'ed the surrounded muscles to make them stronger. the botox wore off and the tightness lightened.

I still get 2-3 epiderals a year in my neck, that are wonderfull and worth a poke with a 12 needle. heck, I would do it myself if they would let me.

Keep us updated

well an update I went and had the injections (steroid) in the mid back to eleviate some of the pain on Weds and its helping that area a bit but unfortunatly he wont do anything to the ones in my neck yet. Well with the eleviation of some of the pain in the mid back its like the neck pain is amplifying. they did give me 2 scripts 1 for percosette and one for Soma the soma is a muscle relaxer (supposed to make groggy and sleepy key word there is supposed its not working) and the percosette is helping a little bit so now its a waiting game another 2-3 weeks and then another MRI and go from there. in the meantime I am looking for another Dr to go to for second oppinions when I went for the injections I was rather ticked at the Dr. and lost all hope with him due to his incompetance. what happened when I went for the injections to me is completly unacceptable he positioned me on the table and started prepping nothing unusual there but where he was prepping was my LOWER BACK when I asked him about it he said "just a min let me look at the charts". "ok I need you to flip onto your stomache instead of your side" then started prepping the area where we discussed the injections that made me real REAL uncomfortable that he was thinking of some one else or whatever and not what we discussed or refreshed his memory by reading my charts before starting a proceedure

another update

as time is going on things are not getting better as a matter of fact things are getting worse in my oppinion I am getting horrific migrains that start in my neck and wrap up and around to the front the slightest little noise or movement feels like my head could explode the medications that they have me on at this time are not helping any (soma(350mg) as a muscle relaxer and Percoset (5-325mg) ) so if you could please keep me in mind and prayers that things will get better at least to a tollerable level

I know that I have sleep apnea and have a cpap machine but havent been able to wear it due to not knowing if its wrong pressures or what but I go to sleep with it on and end up waking up yanking it off feeling as though I am suffocating so tomorrow night I have another study to make adjustments and see what can be done so I will not be able to be on tomorrow night I have to be there at 7 and will leave at 6:30 Friday morning completing the test then waiting on the results but will post and let you know as soon as I hear anything

thank you all for the prayers

well the test last night didnt come back as well as I was hopeing I have been on a CPAP(continuas posative airway pressure) basically it keeps pushing air through you to keep the airways open. well the tests last night now I have to go see another soecialist one in respitory to contunue a test for COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulminary Disorder) and discontinue the use of the CPAP and get a new one called a BI PAP instead of constant pressure in it also pulls out so it basically breathes for me at night the saga continues will keep you all updated as I find things out
