It's a very invasive surgery as they are literally replacing the entire joint with titanium and plastic. It's gonna be very painful. Thanks in advance for the prayers.

You got it Leo - how old is your brother? I picture him fairly young for this sort of surgery?

May God guide the surgeons and medical people and be a comfort to the family.

He's 40yrs old. This is his forth surgery on that shoulder. There just isn't anything there they can salvage anymore. That's why he's getting the entire joint replaced. They are cutting the top off his humerus and screwing a titanium one to the bone. His rotator cup will be replaced with a plastic one.

This kind of surgery is surgery of last resort. He has no more options. They have literally tried everything else. He simply cannot avoid to do this surgery and still use that arm. I hope it works for him.

They only had to do the cap end and left the rotator cup alone.

That's good because it's only %50 of the cutting. Hope that helps him heal faster. I talked to him yesterday before his nerve block wore off. So I'm sure he's hurting by now :( Hope it's not too bad and they let him go home tomorrow.
