heading into town tonight for dinner and I spotted some action out on the flats.
Here were 2 speed goats being stalked by a coyote. I pulled over and grabbed my camera. Now I never spotted any little speed goats but I know they have been around. I'm wondering if the coyote was going after a little one. In any case sometimes ya just shouldn't push to hard. One of the speed goats turned the tables on mr. coyote and gave him a run for his money.

Great pics Bruce.....thanks for sharing  and I'll be the first to admit I'm jealous of you just being able to see that kind of action on your way to dinner....I'm lucky if I see a mongoose or an occasional wild pig when I'm out driving. :(

Great shots Bruce! You seem to have an eye for catching the critters in your lens.

Nice shooting Bruce! The sequence of shots tells the story very well.

Reminded me of my antelope hunt.

I saw this same thing happen while spot and stalking my last day speed goat hunting in CO. We (two other bowhunters and my guide) spotted a small herd of speed goats and approached with the wind in our faces behind some juniper trees. We bumped a coyote that ran out toward the goats that were 200 yards out. The goats saw the yote and each adult took turns running it down like in a relay or some deadly game for the yote.

With the speed potential of those goats the yote wouldn't stand a chance at getting away scot free.

bruce/Bubba; Wow, great action shots, you definitely have the good fortune to be in the right place at the right time. You did a fine job catching Ma nature doing her thing with the hungry coyote and the protective Mom's. Lets count now, elk and black bears earlier, mule deer, bull moose, cow moose, antelopes and coyotes. "A Colo Serengetti" ! You are one lucky man. HH in Pa
