This contest is an individual member shoot out broken into two categories:
White-tail Deer & Mule Deer.
The member with the largest scoring white-tail deer entered and the member with the largest scoring mule deer entered will have their names placed into a drawing. The winner will receive a fully one on one guided mule deer hunt in Arizona courtesy of Arizona Outfitter and Guide Service!

Below is a general outline of this year's contest details. We reserve the right to redefine certain parameters if need be. But, the following is pretty well set. (Grand prize is definitely set.)...

How to enter and who is eligible?
  • All "regular posting" (at least 25 non-spam posts made by the time the contest drawing is held) members in good standing of the HuntingResource.com Forums are eligible to enter a deer in the contest.
  • All members who wish to participate must make a single post on the Sign-Up Sheet.
  • The contest will be based upon individual score, not "team" based.
  • One entry per person.
What animals may be entered?
  • Submissions will be made in the 2008 Big Buck Entry Topic.
  • Deer entered will be of the White-tail OR Mule Deer species (including Black-tail sub-species).
  • Deer entered MUST be taken free-range.
  • Deer entered may be taken using any legal hunting method for the state of harvest.
  • Deer entered MUST be (officially or unofficially) Boone & Crockett green scored. (Scoring charts and online calculators can be found here.)
  • Inside spread will serve as tie breaker in the event of a tie.
How are entries verified?
  • All entries must include CLEAR photos.
  • Photos must include: One photo of entire deer and hunter in the field; one photo of deer with date (can be harvest tag, check station slip, newspaper, or index card with current date written on it); one photo front view of rack; one photo left side view of rack; one photo right side view of rack; one photo overhead view of rack.
  • All entries must include antler measurements and overall Boone & Crockett green score.
What are we playing for?
  • Grand prize is a five day fully guided archery mule deer hunt during the rut OR a four day fully guided rifle or muzzle-loader hunt with Arizona Outfitter and Guide Service.
  • If winner wishes, they may also apply for a Javelina tag to make the trip a combination hunt. (Valid only with archery hunt.)
  • Hunt will include all food, lodging, one on one guide service and transportation to and from the Phoenix airport.
  • Hunt does not include license, tag or air fair to or from Phoenix.
  • Hunt may be scheduled for the 2009, 2010, or 2011 seasons to allow winner ample time to save up for air fair and other personal expenses!
  • Runner-up will receive a "Hunting Resource Orange & Green" sling and a certificate for a sling of their choosing from 808 BowSlings.
Now let's get out there this fall/winter and make it happen!
Safe hunting to all contestants!
