Jason, a mutual friend of ours and myself are going on a 3 day Managed Muzzleloader hunt this weekend. Since here in Missouri you can use a black powder pistol, as long as it's .40 caliber or large,r and only fires one bullet per discharge, I'm going to carry my 1860 Colt Old Army .44. Just as a back-up to my Knight MK-85 .54 or if some unlucky deer provides me with a reasonably close shot. My Colt is a Calvary model wirth a 7 1/2" barrel and has the extra screws in the frame and notch in the bottom of the grip frame to recieve a rifle stock, thus turning it into a carbine. Saving my pennies to some day buy the rifle stock for it. It would really make my day to kill a deer with it. I've owned it for around 30 years and it's become kind of an heirloom to be handed down to Jason. Always thought about hunting with it and now gonna quit thinking about it and just do it!

As long as you keep your shots close it'll do the job.

Norm good luck with the hand cannon. I am not the best with handguns so have fun with your hunt.

Good luck on your hunt. Shooting deer with handguns is a real challenge. I used to hunt with a .44 caliber Ruger Redhawk and it was always a good time.

Thanks guys. I've always been a naturaly good shot with a pistol. It would really make my day to get one with it but I'd be happy to drop one with the Knight MK-85 too. :D

You take it easy and let the younger ones drag out your trophy this comes from the recent experience of someone I know well.
