I came in from turkey hunting at noon and the first thing I did was go to the CO DOW website. I typed my name and other info and the reply came back that it could not find an application by that name. I tried again another way and same thing. By now I am thinking what is going on. I have a receipt for my elk application and it was put on and paid for with a credit card which we have the receipt. By this time I am pretty bummed out.

I then enter Eric's name and info and it came back he was successful. We had applied as a group and his application included my CID #. I was under the impression that if one person in the group was successful, all will be successful. As a last resort I redid my info for the 4th time and lo and behold it indicated this time I was successful.

Elkatraz III here we come come he double hockey sticks or high water here we come. We may not eat much as neither of us cook but we will survive.

Oh by the way what does an elk look like???????? Are they bigger than a breadbox?

The elk are a little bit bigger than a gopher. Extremely hard to stop and totally vicious! Better take along at least a 458 winchester magnum. Congrats on your tags.

Eric and I will be after a cow elk. Yes a cow. We didn't want to come to Colorado just to shoot the bull ya know. Actually we neither can shoot a bow well enough to consider that and the muzzleloader bull season ends when Elkatraz starts. It just happens that a cow elk rifle season Starts the 15th or 16th and we are going after them with either a modern day rifle or our muzzleloaders.

Question. If I choose to use my muzzleloader in the modern rifle hunt am I still restricted to open sights and non sabotted bullets or can I use whatever without restriction.

Paul If I remember Right ( it was over a year ago) you can run what ya brung during a gen rifle hunt, meaning, scopes, sabots, and pellets are good to go, as long as its .50 cal or bigger

Bruce may correct me but if my memory correct (I seem to have CRS latley)

Hunt from the looks of it I don't think so. :( When PA and I thought about E3 last year we were going to hunt with the muzzys but decided to go with the rifle cow tag insted. The dates were conflicting with when everyone wanted to go.
