Just curious how many pins you use on your bow for elk hunting? I was using 3 last year...20...40...60 and will probably stick with that. Missed a bull the last evening of my hunt but looking back on it I think I either jerked the shot and went over his back or didn't compensate for incline. I was shooting 5 pins but went to 3 last year.

Never hunted for elk, but for whitetail I use a HHA 1 pin sight.

I shoot 7 pins.....20 to 80 yards. No need for a 10 yarder IMO...turkey hunting from a ground blind maybe.

I am currently using 5, but I am kicking around the idea of using 7.

Whip I'd make one suggestion when shooting at 10 yards or less please practice that shot. I find that a 20 yards pin will not do it. It might be your 30 or even your 40 yards pin that will do the job. I learned this lesson from a guy that bowhunts turkeys as professional hunter at one time. He bet me that my 20 yard pin would over shoot the spot at 6 paces and I lost. :peace:
