Well, here goes.
Thursday at work is when it happened.
I was at my desk and got a knot between my shoulder blades.
Just thought it was a back issue.
Within a minute I got the same pain in my chest.
I sat down at my desk and within a minute the pain started down my arm.

I told the guys in my office that I was having a heart attack.
They called 911 and the paramedics were there in less than a minute.
I was at the hospital in less than five minutes from the time it started.
Once there they called for life flight, it arrived in less than ten minutes.

Twelve minutes later we landed in Danville.
Straight into the OR.

Less than five minutes later they had the angeoplasty (sp) in and the blockage opened.
They monitored my heart for a few minutes then inserted the stint.

The rest is history.

I had zero indication of any problem.
No pain no shortness of breath, nothing leading up to this.

I just had a full physical two days prior and everything including a fasting bloodscreen came back o.k.

I asked the dr when he was releasing me, what caused it?

He said your a man, your over 40 and I can't tell you why it just happens.

The new procedures that are in place at Geisinger are life savers.
They don't wait any more.
They just go straight in through the cath and look at the heart.
The doctor told me that even with the new procedures in place 1/3 still don't make it.
He said that there is no major damage to my heart and I should have a full recovery.

Thank you all for the prayers.

Live every day as it is your last!!!!

Just be sure to follow up with your doctors and take their advice to heart, no pun intended. God has the rest.

Glad to hear you are expected to make a full recovery, those close calls open your eyes to what can happen in the blink of an eye though..

Glad that you were where you could get help ASAP. Do what the Dr. tells you, and you should be fine. You really don't want, or, need a bypass. Might have to change eating habits, but thats a minor setback. Take care, Judd.

Judd glad you did not just be a hard headed man when the symptoms showed up. Praise the Lord for your recovery. So do what the doc says and you will be ok....
