My husband shot a good 8 point the first week of season - still had some of the velvet on - we went one day after work. My stand was not meant to hunt in the evening!!!! Charlie called me on my phone & told me he had shot one & I was thrilled to get down - sun had been beating me up all afternoon - deer was behind me when I got dow, oh well. His deer didn't go far, about 40 yards. I wiish it had got up hill because the ATV was at the house & we had to drag this deer up the hill!!! Had backstrap the nest night!!!

We have been seeing a few deer - I had a 7 & 6 point within 20 yards but they were just too young. All of the does still have little one (with spots). Looking for that lone doe to come through. Season seems to off to a good start. We have had opportunities - some we take some we don't. I have one stand that I have seen deer out of every time I have been to it - active scrapes are not too far off so maybe I'll get a shot yet!!!

Sounds like you all are having a good time. Most times patience pays off.
