Had an opportunity to shoot this gun a little, about a half dozen rounds. I couldnt hold it steady, but Dan did alright with it.the 45/70 pistol . Not very practical in my opinion, but it sure was fun

I have a contender with a 10 inch bull barrel in 41 mag that seems to recoil as much as that 45-70. Especially with 210 gr bullets.

I have a friend with a contender in 444Marlin and it seems to have a little more recoil than that 45-70 load. The 444 is a ball to shoot and I am sure the 45-70 is also. There is just something about big bore handguns. PA I have never shot a 41Mag but will get one if I ever find one I can almost steal. I have the 357 and 44 mags and really NEED the one in the middle.
