We're hearing them around the camp and even seeing a few toms, but mostly just shock gobbling in the wee hours. Things happen a little slower up around 8,600 feet. We still have quite a bit of snow on the ground too. We're hearing noticeably more gunfire coming from the public land around us this year and it seems to have the Merriam's off whatever little scrap of routine they may have had. The nice thing about a 5 week season is you can take your time and enjoy the chase!

Just got back home today. Had a dry run in Tennessee. Weather was pretty tough and turkeys were pretty scarce where we were hunting.

Scored good in Kentucky though. Got a 23#er with a 8 3/4" beard and 1" spurs on the 15th and a 22#er with a 10" beard and some very sharp 15/16" spurs on the 17th. Will get pics developed and posted as soon as possible.
