My son took off tonight and I told him he wouldn't make all the way to where he was headed. Well about fifteen minutes after he left the house I get a call and asked what's wrong. He said I shot a bear dad. So I took his truck up to pick the bear up and get the story, which wasn't much of one. He was driving the four wheeler up the trail and spotted the bear sitting down. He got off and took a shot and it was over. Out of convenience I dressed his bear out HA, HA. Then on the way down the warden just happen to be coming up the road so we got the bear recorded and a tooth pulled.
This is a big bore that the warden thinks will be in the teens as far as age. Also we taped him out and he is over a seven foot bear. He said the bear dropped in his tracks from the 257 weatherby mag and when I dressed him out the heart was blown away from the valve out of the heart sack.
I did not realize a bears body cavity was so small.

Congratulations to the son on a fine looking bear.
