I've mentioned on here a few times that I'm always on the lookout for used recurves and longbows, but of a certain quality, condition, poundage and often brand names and models. Well this past week I was watching an auction listing on Ebay for a 70s vintage Bear A Mag Handle takedown recurve. It appeared to be about 35 years old (a Michigan bow), in excellent condition (except for the foam residue from it being stored in a Bear takedown case), very little usage, about 45# and came complete with the Bear takedown case, that I've seen go for $100 themselves on Ebay before.
Well the auction ended tonight and the winning bid was $860. OUCH!!!!!! It's amazing how much the older higher end Bear recurves are going for. They've become real collector items to the purists I guess.
My search continues!
