Thee years ago I had 150+ turkeys roosting behind the house. The population area wide has since dwindled to the point I didn't even hunt gobblers this year. i did not realise how bad it was till we started clearing them from around the house. My boys have been killing 2-5 coons and skunks every night since Feb. twice in the last two weeks they got 10 in an evening. There seems to be no end to these things. I want our turkeys back.
I thought I would post a couple tips the boys use while hunting the house and pens.
Use a .22 it's quiet and allows them to hunt the same area's twice per night.
Leave a cheap radio playing. This covers any noise you make walking around.
Make a spot to dump table scraps or dump dog food.
A good LED flashlight is more discrete than a traditional spotlight
Of course out in the pasture traditional methods apply calls spotlights etc.
