Woohoo! Sat in the rain for most of the day to be rewarded with a big 8 pointer! This is my 2nd buck ever. My first was a 4 pointer the year before the PA antler restrictions started. I didnt have a digital camera with when I was out because of the rain. I had to use a disposable but I p/u the cape for a shoulder mount tomorrow so I'll post pics shortly. Double lung & heart shot. He was 25 yards up a steep hill from me when I took the shot. With a rage in his cage he went 15 feet before tumbling down hill to me.

Congrats on the buck glad you remained calm enough to get a really good shot on him. Since you seem to be doubling the point count your next one will have to be a 16 point. Lol.

To think of all the rainy days I stayed in bed & missed, cursing at the weather. Nope never again. But alas, I sit here at work till 4pm Then I have to go to my butcher to p/u the cape to take to the taxidermist (45 min drive) . My taxidermist said to come after dark because he's hunting this afternoon (legal hour ends today at 6:41pm). Im going nuts, I want to put my hands around his rack one more time...

My daughter will watch hunting with me & she understands that they're doing it to feed their families. She even said she wanted to hunt once. I hope she is still understanding when we all go to the taxidermist. They didnt get to see him yesterday.

And..........you are correct. She did. Wasnt grossed out at the butcher's when I picked up the cape or at the taxidermist where he had a bear run & a bison shoulder mount being put together. Very proud pappa!!

The bad pics are from a disposable (thanks again hun!).

Entry hole rage 100 gr. 2 blade xbow heads = double lung & heart shot-

Wasnt easy getting him into the trunk of my wifes dodge neon by myself with a herniated disc (c6/c7) pressing on my left arm nerve.

In all I think he's just a tad larger then my 1st buck dont you think? Thank you God, my wife & Dr. Alts antler restrictions.
