The spirit of a fat doe left this earth this morning. Cause of death could have been living on the edge. The edge of the fields down below and the edge of the hollow that Eric was sitting in. Death could have been caused by overeating in a nearby cornfield, or by nibbling the brush tips or possibly by the hole in her side caused by a very loud bang from Erics rifle. She is survived by a whole bunch of children and siblings. Preceeding her in death was a long line of whitetails over the years. The viewing will be held in Eric's garage overnight till tomorrow. She will be interned in small pieces in Erics and My Freezer which will disappear in small quantities at meal time.

I actually intended to say the remains will be cremated in small edible amounts.

The pic gives a hint of the steepness of the terrain but does not do it justice. She fell about 1/3 to 1/2 way down the mountain so while Eric dragged her downhill I trudged my way back to the top and down the other side to where the truck was parked. I then drove around the end of the mountain and up to the farm just seen through the trees behind Eric and picked them up. Sure was easier than trying to drag uphill at an angle that one can barely walk upright let alone trying to haul the deer up too. The snow didn.t help either other than to hide the loose rocks underfoot. Regardless she is resting comfortably as possible when hanging upside down by the back legs.
