I had an idea the other day. I just have a basic garmin etrax. I have no experience with the better models. BUT..... wouldnt it be an awesome idea if, they had one that syncs up with google earth? I use G.E. religiously on my pc at home. any waypoints I save on my gps I plot onto G.E. Being able to see a 3d arial map with all the waypoints really helps when scouting.  I also print out the areas I hunt from G.E.  and save in a folder for my wife so I dont come home, she can give it to search & rescue. I see that some gps use topo maps, but do any use aerial maps like google earth?

My cell phone gets aerial maps and so does my Garmin GPS for the car, so I would assume most newer hand held GPS units would get aerial maps as well
