Sorry I haven't been around guys. Health issues have been taking most all my time. Just had all my teeth pulled, 29 all at one time, in order to be prepared for heart surgery. The surgeon worried my teeth would cause infection in my heart. Soon as the dentist clears me the surgeon will replace the Mytal Valve in my heart. He specialises in a new technique and will go in through my side rather than opening my chest back up so I'm hoping the recovery will be both faster and easier. A differant surgeon had already turned down the operation because he would have had to go in through my chest and didn't think I'd survive it again. Been on a soup diet as the new dentures don't fit worth a dang. Going early in the morning to get them redone. On a lighter note;

Fred, this is the set I told you about on the phone. Pretty sweet huh? :)

Norm, I have learned in the past week how complicated surgery can get on people. Dad just had to have his gall bladder out yesterday and they had him in the hospital 4 days before the surgery trying to get his COPD and congestive heart failure managed a bit more before the surgery. He didn't have to worry about teeth himself because he hasn't had any for as long as I can remember. Glad you are getting your surgery now. Keep us posted. We're a family here and we want you safe.

Norm I will be lifting you up for God's hand to be upon those surgeons. Praying first that there would be a supernatural healing so that you don't have to go through that.

My bro glad you are still with us. I have been putting you on our church prayer board. Take it easy and stay as well as you can so the operation will make your old bod well and fit again.

Thanks everyone, much apreciated. It's a little scary but I'm sure I'll be fine. I'm thinking of asking the surgeon if the operation could be put off till January. Hunting seasons would then be over with and I'd have all the time in the world to recoup before turkey season. ;) But, I'll leave it to his discretion. I'm lucky to have him. I've got new grand kids, new guns, and new guitars so I'm not ready to cash out just yet. ;)

By the way, that .44 mag barrel on the Contender in the above pic kicks butt! The .243 barrel is ok but I fell in love with the .44 mag. :) Can hardly wait to drop a deer with it. :)

Good luck onthe mitral valve. It'll extend your life a lot and if they donthave to split your chest thats a big advantage. My dad got a pig valve at UofPa Hosp in Phila in 69 and it lasted til 85, then he he got a mechanical valve( sounded like a z28 with solid lifters) in Sayre Pa. Dad was split long ways in 69 then sideways in 85. They take a rib out too I think, so you wont have to have that done. He hung in there with the mech valve til 1999. Good luck.
