Doog missing your dad will never go away.  I lost my dad who I was very close to in 1989.  I still miss him and am reminded of him often.  What is missing is the sharp edge of grief that you are most likely feeling now.  That sharp edge does dull over time and the remembrance of the good times and even the funny times come and keep coming.  Do your best to not become embittered over the loss but when you feel that coming on think of all the good times you had.

Doog I had a similar dreamlike episode with my dad too.  Mine was in my minds eye on my way home from the hospital where dad breathed his last.  Mine gave me a lot of comfort during my sorrow.
